What are the metallic properties of titanium?

Titanium is a silver-gray metal, soft and malleable. The melting point is 1660°C, the boiling point is 3287°C, and the density is 4.5g/cm3. Poor electrical and thermal conductivity. Manufacturing Processes for Grade 1 Titanium Plate

Grade 1 Pure Titanium Sheet starts as ingots of commercially pure titanium that are then processed into mill products. There are several manufacturing processes used to make grade 1 titanium plate:

Forging - The titanium ingot is heated and pressed into shape between massive dies. This produces titanium blocks, billets, or slabs. Forging results in significant grain flow that improves strength capabilities.

Titanium Bar Production Methods

grade 5 titanium round bars are produced from titanium ingots which are melted and cast into shapes. The main methods for producing titanium bars are vacuum arc remelting (VAR) and electron beam melting (EBM). In VAR, a consumable electrode of titanium is melted in a vacuum and dripped into a mold to solidify. This process refines the chemistry and removes impurities. EBM similarly melts titanium wire feedstock in a vacuum using an electron beam as the heat source. EBM offers more precise control of the solidification process.
