Titanium tube specifications and installation methods

Titanium alloy is the earliest developed and most widely used titanium alloy in the world. Its output accounts for more than half of the total output of various titanium alloy semi-finished products in the world, and more than 80% in the aerospace industry.

Introduce the precautions for installation, use, welding, transportation and maintenance.

  1. Grade 2 Pure Titanium Tubes and elbows should be inspected regularly to keep the surface clean, remove dirt, and store them neatly in a ventilated place indoors. Do not pile them up or store them in the open.

2. When the ball valve, stop valve and gate valve of the titanium alloy pipe elbow are used, they are only fully open or fully closed, and are not allowed to adjust the flow rate, so as to prevent the sealing surface from being eroded and accelerated wear.

  3. There is an inverted sealing device inside the gate valve and the upper thread stop valve, and the hand wheel is rotated to the top surface to ensure that it will not rust or fall. Keep the storage environment of titanium alloy pipes, titanium elbows, titanium size heads, titanium tees and other titanium pipe fittings dry and ventilated, keep the surface of pipes and pipe fittings clean and neat, and store them accurately.

Precautions for installation and transportation of titanium tubes:

1. Installation of titanium and titanium seamless pipes Titanium and titanium alloy pipe manufacturers should pay attention not to contact or collide with iron materials during transportation and storage of titanium and titanium alloy pipes.

2. Mechanical methods should be used for cutting titanium and titanium alloy pipes, and the cutting speed should be low. When cutting or grinding titanium pipes with grinding wheels, special grinding wheels should be used; flame cutting should not be used. Groove should be processed by mechanical method.

3. Inert gas shielded welding or vacuum welding should be used for welding titanium alloy welded pipes. Oxygen-acetylene welding or carbon dioxide gas shielded welding should not be used, and ordinary manual arc welding should not be used.

4. When installing titanium and titanium alloy pipes, do not use iron tools and materials to knock and squeeze; rubber plates or soft plastic plates should be placed between carbon steel supports, hangers and titanium and titanium alloy pipes to make them No direct contact with titanium and titanium alloy pipes; casings should be installed when titanium and titanium alloy pipes pass through walls and floors. The gap should not be less than 10mm, and insulation should be filled. The insulation should not contain iron impurities.

5. Titanium and titanium alloy pipes should not be directly welded with other metal pipes. When connection is required, looper flange connection can be used. The non-metallic gaskets used are generally rubber pads or plastic pads, and the chloride ion content should be controlled not to exceed 25ppm.
